Counselling offers a confidential space where individuals can think about and discuss their thoughts, emotions, relationships and events in their lives, whether past or present. It presupposes that whatever happens to us as we go through life, will have affected us, sometimes in ways that we are unaware.
It is impossible for any of us to escape challenging times in our lives and sometimes thoughts and feelings can be overwhelming. When this happens, we can become depressed or anxious or feel generally very unhappy with our lives.
I offer Counselling to Adolescents and Adults, both time limited and longer term work. I have experience in working with a range of issues including (and in no particular order): low confidence and self-esteem, anxiety and panic attacks, abuse, depression, stress, grief and bereavement, trauma and post traumatic stress disorder, workplace difficulties, relationship difficulties, loneliness, difficulty expressing feelings and emotions, anger, and self -harming behaviour.
Counselling sessions usually last approximately 50 minutes.The number of sessions required is unique to each client and will depend on a number of factors including your short-term and long-term goals and how much support you have out-with our therapeutic relationship. Some clients only require a few sessions, others require more. I am happy to work however you choose. We can think about your goals and a realistic timescale when we first meet.

What is EMDR? EMDR is a powerful psychological treatment method that was developed by an American clinical psychologist, Dr Francine Shapiro, in the 1980s. As a Senior Research Fellow at the Mental Research Institute (in Palo Alto, USA), she published the first research data to support the benefits of the therapy in 1989.
Since then a wealth of research has been conducted demonstrating its benefits in treating psychological trauma arising from experiences as diverse as war related experiences, childhood sexual and / or physical abuse or neglect, natural disaster, assault, surgical trauma, road traffic accidents and workplace accidents. Since its original development, EMDR is also increasingly used to help individuals with other issues and performance anxiety. EMDR has been found to be of benefit to children as well as adults.
Trained Doula for the Dying.
What is a Doula? A Doula provides emotional, spiritual comfort and logistical assistance. Doulas for the dying provides a range of services to the dying patient and their family. They can guide families through the process of death, telling them what to expect and helping them to deal with mortuaries, funeral homes, and other agencies that may be interacting with the patient and family. I may sit at the dying patient’s bedside, with or without the family, and chat, sing, read or simply be there. Because I work in the private sector and within a hospice, I can provide this service either with the person's home or in a hospital or nursing home.

Zero Balancing “ZB” is a gentle transformative form of total body/mind/spirit healing modality and hands on bodywork that addresses a very wide range of physical, spiritual, and mental issues.
After assessing the structure body, I apply specific and deliberate gentle pressure and touch to the areas of tension held in the bones. This pressure creates movement of the energy and openness in these areas of tension. By the end of the session, my patients often feel taller, and at peace and most profoundly: pain free.
Before each ZB session, I encourage you to design a frame for which to hold the entire session within. I found that a well-framed ZB session can result in an evolution of consciousness itself!

1.Wanting to be free from the desires and the fears of the mind more than anything else.
2.To renounce victimization, and take responsibility of my actions.
3.To face everything and avoid nothing, for the sake of clarity of intention, and purity of motivation.
4.To not take anything personally and to want to be transparent.
5.To have integrity by living up to the highest I’ve seen for the sake of the whole.
Rate for ZB is £25.00 per session.

The sessions are completely confidential except under two circumstances:
- I regularly discuss my work with a senior clinical supervisor. This is standard practice and enables me to provide the best service possible.
- If I believe you may be at risk of harming yourself or others, I would only do this in extreme circumstances and would always try to discuss it with you first before taking any actions. I have both evening and daytime/weekends availability.
Things to consider; you will be spending time, emotional energy, and money with a therapist. I recommend if you are considering therapy to think carefully about what you might need to know about me in order to feel safe and confident with this threefold investment.
I work from my home in Inverness, this provides a quiet and peaceful setting.
