About me

Hello I am Wendy and I have been counselling in Peterborough since 1998. I am an Registered Accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

I have worked in many settings over the years within Peterborough and its surrounding areas,
including

  • Doctors Surgeries,
  • Both primary and secondary schools,
  • Within private agencies,
  • I managed 2 well known Young People's Counselling services respectively at different times.

I provide a professional, confidential, down to earth, sensitive, collaborative and non judgemental counselling service in central Peterborough to individuals.

I offer an Initial Assessment and this is a chance for you to tell me what brings you to counselling, you may have questions to ask me, and I will have a few questions for you.

You are under no obligation to continue counselling after the initial assessment, however if we both feel we connect and can work together, then we can arrange weekly sessions (recommended for continuity and consistency).

I offer short, medium or long term counselling.
Sessions are 50 minutes in duration.
Fees are £47 per 50 minute session (see further down the page for more details)

I work in a very fluid way, getting to know you and tailoring the counselling to your needs. I am trained Integratively and work in a Person Centred way, but I can also help you link to your past, and can help support you with techniques and ways of supporting yourself in the present.
I will encourage you to be aware of how you feel on many levels so you can become holistically self-aware.

I can offer other materials to help you connect and make sense of things, such as clay, painting, drawing, (you do not need to be an artist or feel you have to meet certain levels, just express yourself as you need).

I will help you become aware of how your body responds to your emotions, and how you feel as a whole person.

I will not judge you we are all human.

I have had many extensive training over the years and these influence the way I work and bring a richness to what I can offer you.

I regularly attend continued professional development (CPD) training and workshops to further advance my development to add to my skills and update.

I am a member of and work within the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists code of ethics and Framework.

I am fully insured.

I hold a regularly updated Enhanced DBS certificate.
