About me
Would you like to learn how to deal with your emotions and use your inner resources to gain control of your thoughts and feelings?
If you answered yes, maybe counselling is for you.
I provide one to one therapy sessions, combining traditional talking therapies, (Humanistic/Psychodynamic) with the use of art/drama/play therapy to work with deeper and long term issues. This can be integrated within a CBT model to aid recovery from trauma, phobias, social phobia.
I work with children( 5 yrs- 11), adolescents(12-18), and adults.
I also offer Hypnotherapy, and relaxation with Mindfulness to provide a full Holistic approach to a healthier mind, body and spirit.
I specialise in working with children aged 5-11 years.
I provide a place where you can express your feelings through talking, art, creative work and play.
I work one to one in a safe and confidential space. Each session lasts for 60 minutes.
I can help you to cope with struggles in your life and the stresses of family living. I aim to enable you to learn how you can solve problems to enable you to manage feelings such as frustration, anger, sadness, and anxiety.
Issues I work with are:
Bereavement, bullying at work or school, low self-esteem, stress, low self-confidence, self-harm, behaviour issues, transition Year 6 to Year 7, family crisis, anger- management, depression, anxiety, financial difficulties, social phobias, relationship problems with friends & family.
When working with children, I work closely with the parents/carers of the child, together we decide on the priority issues and a time scale that suits. This will be reviewed after 6 weeks with full feedback.
Feedback from clients:
"I just feel that I never really thanked you properly for the time you gave me, so: thank you. I hope you know that you really helped me through a tough time and although our sessions ended quite suddenly, I valued them very much. You're a good counsellor, I loved your feedback and you allowed me to think of things in a new way, which is so important." - Bethany

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
