Petra Waker, Accr. MBACP, UKRCP Reg.
Hi, Sometimes just being able to talk about difficult life events, loss, relationship issues, worries and repetitive thoughts, with someone who is impartial and is not judgemental, can help you find the answers you have been looking for. From my own experience, I know counselling is a very personal process, and I provide a comfortable setting in which you can feel supported to think and be.
I offer help with anxiety, depression, anger, work stress problems, as well as PTSD, abuse and life issues that you might be struggling with. Including relaxation with talking therapy often can help to reduce the number of sessions needed, help with sleep problems, alleviate stress symptoms and give new perspectives.
Together we will decide what is the best way forward for you.
I work with individuals, couples and young adults from age 16yrs, as well as trainee counsellors.
To contact me for an informal short chat or more information, please contact me on the above numbers or send me an email - I look forward to hearing from you.
l aim to return your call the same day, please leave a good time to call back if I am unable to take your call.
I have worked in this field for nearly 30 years, both in the voluntary sector of Mind, Cruse and private practice and bring a wealth of life experience as well as years of training. I have found that past life events and relationship have a strong influence on who we are today.
I am accredited with the British Association of Counselling and work to their ethical framework.
Training, qualifications & experience
My work experience includes 25 yrs with two charities; one a bereavement service, where I worked as a trainer, supervisor and accredited counsellor and the other a National Mental Health Charity at a counselling centre in Milton Keynes, where I see clients for short and long term therapy referred to by the NHS and Mental health team.
