About me

Hi, I’m Zoe, a Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in Chorlton, South Manchester, offering in person, online and walk and talk sessions for both individuals and couples. I can help you to identify and explore difficult feelings and support you to make the changes needed to get you to a better place.

You may be struggling with a specific issue or pattern of behaviour and know already what you would like to talk about. Alternatively, you may be suffering from anxiety, depression, or low self esteem and need support with processing your feelings and emotions. Together we can talk about possible past and present issues that may be affecting you.

My approach is driven through discussion with you, as we are all unique and there is no ‘one size fits all’. I combine Person Centred counselling, which allows you to reflect and process what is going on for you, with CBT and coaching to help you develop strategies for positive change that you can use for the rest of your life.  I offer an open minded, non-judgmental and supportive space to help you feel comfortable talking about difficult or challenging issues.  Whilst I work with a variety of issues, I specialise in working with anxiety, and can effectively help you challenge and eliminate your anxious thoughts. I work with clients from all backgrounds.

I also offer Couples Counselling counselling.  Communication is the foundation of a healthy relationship, and Relationship Therapy can really help with this. I will work with you and your partner to identify areas of concern, and offer guidance and support as you grow and develop together. With my help, you'll learn to communicate more effectively, build a deeper understanding of each other, and repair ruptures to create a strong and lasting bond.

I offer a complementary 15 minute consultation. This is an opportunity to get to know me and to allow me to gain a little more detail from you.  I currently have availability so please get in touch and we can work together to figure out what you need.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
