About me

There are many reasons why you might find yourself in a difficult time in your life. It may seem impossible to navigate through. You may feel stuck, unhappy, and uncertain about how to change things for the better. I understand that it takes courage to ask for help and support.

I offer a safe, confidential, and caring environment to address the psychological, relational, and emotional challenges you may be facing. I am a highly qualified and experienced psychotherapist who works with a wide variety of mental health challenges.

I specialise in helping clients with trauma (both recent and historical trauma, including CPTSD) and body image issues.

My extensive clinical experience includes working in specialised trauma for a leading U.K. charity as a therapist to survivors of gender-based violence and abuse.

Other areas of expertise include:

  • Intimacy and Attachment Issues
  • Low Self-Esteem and Low Self-Confidence
  • Anxiety and Stress
  • Depression and Low Mood
  • Grief, Loss and Bereavement
  • Childhood and Family Issues
  • Interpersonal Relationships Issues (including breakups, divorce and separations)
  • Health Related Issues
  • Issues around Food and Weight
  • Mood and Thinking Difficulties

I am particularly interested in the mind-body connection and understand how trauma can affect self-esteem, body image, and the ability to manage intimacy in relationships.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a powerful talking therapy. Often unresolved and troubling past experiences are repeated in the present; I can help bring about an understanding of these experiences in therapy and help you uncover the underlying cause of your worries. I will encourage you to build self-awareness while exploring your thoughts and feelings to create beneficial, long-lasting change. The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work.

Please get in touch with me to book an initial session; here, we can talk about what has brought you to therapy, understand your expectations, and decide on the best way forward. You don't need to go ahead after this session; it is an opportunity to explore if you feel comfortable in the setting.

All questions are confidential, and no GP referral is necessary. If we decide to proceed, we will meet at a dedicated time each week for a 50-minute session.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist, a clinical member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I abide by their code of ethics and practice. I am also a professional member of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC).

I am committed to my ongoing professional development and supervision and have Professional Indemnity Insurance.

I completed a four-year post-graduate training at the University of Roehampton in conjunction with WPF Therapy, one of the UK's leading psychodynamic psychotherapy training and therapy service providers.

Additionally, I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Political Science (UNSW, Australia), a professional certification in Applied Neuroscience and Brain Health, and an ICF-accredited certificate in Life Coaching.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BPC
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
