About me
Hi, I'm Warren.
I help people experiencing anxiety, depression or trauma or those that want to make changes to their lives (at home or at work). People I work with may be struggling with low self esteem that affects their ability to live the life they want to live and make the decisions that they want to make. I also help people with debilitating phobias or those with obsessive compulsive behaviours. I support all my clients to reach the goals they set to achieve the freedom they want.
I use Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and, where appropriate, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) as the foundation for my work. CBT and REBT are based on the philosophy that it's not events that disturb people but the view they take of those events. I take clients through a process that helps them to understand their emotions, the demands they are placing upon themselves and the beliefs that flow from those demands. I then to help them change how they feel by changing how they think and behave. Because CBT/REBT is a process, it does not go on indefinitely, meaning that it can be a more cost effective way of getting the help you need.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, so I can also draw upon skills and training in hypnotherapy and mindfulness to further aid the client's recovery.
I have particular experience of working with the emergency services and the military (both currently serving and veterans).
I know from personal experience how daunting it can be trying to find the right therapist. I aim to put my clients at ease from the very first contact so please don't be shy about getting in touch! We can have a free, no obligation chat about how I can help you.
I undertake face to face work in the Bedford area, although a lot of my work is online meaning I can help clients all over the country.
