I provide a confidential setting for you to explore any difficulties you may be experiencing. I am accredited with the BACP. This status means I have been recognised as meeting high standards of experience & knowledge. I work from a lovely private setting close to the town centre.
I offer a safe, relaxed and impartial space for you to talk about your feelings, to explore your experiences, help you to understand your difficulties and to help you to develop your own resources to manage them. I offer a form of counselling called Person Centred Counselling which does not analyse or diagnose.
Training, qualifications & experience
I volunteered at a hospice based in Teesside for 5 years. During this time I offered one to one support. I also have experience of offering counselling to people with mental health issues and difficult life events at a mental health charity. For the past 5 years I have been working in a Primary Care setting providing counselling to people experiencing anxiety and or depression, with a wide range of issues. I have also worked in areas such as counselling cancer patients and their carers in a hospital setting.
My qualifications include: Counselling for Depression, CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies and NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Counselling. I have been accredited with the BACP since 2014. I am also a registered member with this organisation.

- The initial assessment and all sessions are £35. Sessions last 50 minutes.
The fee is negotiable for students requiring therapy as part of a counselling course, depending on circumstances.
Please feel free to make your initial enquiry or book an appointment either by text, phone or email.
Following this, if you would like to meet me, it might be helpful for you to use the first half an hour, which is free, to see how you feel about working with me (with no obligation). After this, if you wish to go ahead, we complete an assessment together which takes around 50 minutes.
You choose the number of sessions. You might like to start with short-term therapy or opt for open-ended counselling. If you find the short-term therapy to be beneficial, you can extend into longer-term counselling if you wish.
Sessions are available to adults and are provided on an individual basis. As well as offering face to face sessions , I can also offer this over the phone if you are not able to attend an appointment
