About me
Hello. Are you feeling anxious, exhausted or stuck? Perhaps you are navigating loss, trauma or have noticed you are repeating unhelpful patterns that are impacting your life and relationships. Whatever your reasons are for seeking counselling, I will take the time to listen and understand what is important to you. We can then decide the best way to move forward, at a pace that is right for you.
I am a qualified, neurodivergent-affirming counsellor. I work with a range of therapeutic approaches, adapting them to suit your individual needs and preferences.
My core training as a counsellor in Transactional Analysis (TA), can help us understand how early relationships, environment and experiences continue to impact choices, relationships and beliefs about ourselves, others and the world. These insights increase self-awareness into why you think, feel and behave as you do and support change and self-compassion.
Have you ever wondered why sometimes when you feel overwhelmed, your ability to think clearly, communicate or make decisions is affected?
When the nervous system responds to signals of danger, it moves into fight, flight or freeze responses and switches resources away from the brain to the body. When the danger passes this usually improves.
For many people who have had trauma, are neurodivergent or experience too many different stresses for too long, the nervous system can be more easily triggered. It can also take longer to rebalance or become chronically stuck in a sense of high alert, numbness or burnout.
If this is something that impacts your life, we can include somatic therapy. This can help you to understand and identify what nervous system state you are in. We can then explore a range of different techniques to discover what helps your system to rebalance.
