About me

Hello my name is Susan Ronayne Kelly – Sue. I am a qualified and accredited person-centred counsellor and can offer both face to face and online counselling, thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. Choosing a counsellor that you feel you can relate to is a big part of beginning therapy, so I commend you for starting the process. You are looking because something isn’t right in your world at the moment it may be that you are feeling low, unable to respond to life’s ups and downs as you would like to, it may be that you have experienced loss and feel that a part of you is missing, that gaping hole which feels like a chasm. Perhaps worries are overtaking you. Call me , see if I feel right for you or make an appointment via my website

Relationships can be tricky things to master and I can also offer couples counselling- this could be Life partners at any stage of their relationship or Mother and Daughter, Brother and Sister for example. It does take willingness on both of you to want to make changes.

Counselling is a two-way process and is not just about talking as you would with friends or family. I provide a safe haven where you can explore your thoughts and feelings which will lead you to a better understanding of yourself and allow you to see choices to move forward in your life. I won’t judge or tell you what to do. You are the expert on you and stay central to everything we do together, leading you toward being a better version of yourself. What that looks like is different for everyone- your therapy is as individual as you are.  I also use from other disciplines such as transactional analysis and inner child if we think this is appropriate

I took medical retirement after 23 years as a Science Teacher and Pastoral leader in a Comprehensive school and have lived experience of Chronic Health conditions; including non-epileptic seizures. I cannot make these conditions disappear from your life but can help you to adjust to a new way of being.

I feel very privileged to have trained as a Counsellor and to be trusted with your thoughts and feelings. I deliberately keep my practice small, so that I can give you of my best. I continue to volunteer counsel for OACS in Benfleet. Contact me and start your counselling journey.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
