About me

If you feel you may need to talk to a counsellor, the chances are that you are experiencing one or more difficulties in your life that you feel is preventing you from feeling fulfilled, happy or content. Online counselling can be your solution.

Online counselling sessions offer many benefits to people: All you need is an internet, Smart Phone/Tablet/laptop device and a quiet space!

The advantages in light of the pandemic need no explanation and online counsellors know only too well, even though things are improving with Covid-19, anxiety cant just be turned off like a switch. Online you are able to get the professional help and support you need without the additional obstacles of feeling even more anxious or stressed.

Plus...No Travel Time!

The first therapy session will be an assessment of your needs; that my level of training and expertise is the most appropriate to address these, and if the outcome you wants is achievable within a counselling setting. It is also a chance for you to decide if you feel comfortable talking and working with me and ask any questions you may have.

By the end of our first session I will ensure we have the time for us both to express if we feel we can work together collaboratively going forward, what our expectations are of each other and how we can work in the counselling process together to achieve these.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Integrative Counselling
  • Cert in Online Counselling
  • Person Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression
  • Cert In Personality Disorders
  • Cert in Dual Diagnosis
  • I would describe my work with as integrative, underpinned by the Humanistic, Person Centred theoretical orientation. I believe that individuals are the experts of themselves and my role is to provide a safe therapeutic environment where we can 'work together' in confidentiality.  I conduct my sessions remotely; using video calls and audio calls (telephone).

I have undergone additional training to work in these remote ways which is CPCAB approved. You can expect our therapy sessions to show respect, transparency, honesty and adherence to professional ethics and boundaries where no judgement will be made.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
