About me

(Online video or phone call sessions are also available)

About me

I am a registered BACP therapist and fully qualified person centred counsellor. I have 10 +years of experience working with adults and young people.

I am compassionate, friendly , non- judgemental and committed to offering a safe, confidential space for you to be heard.

I work with clients with a vast range of issues from anxiety disorders, intrusive thoughts, depression, self esteem, relationship issues, loss of direction/ motivation and general stresses of life.

How can therapy help ?

Do you struggle with feelings of anxiety self doubt and unable to switch off unwanted thoughts?

Do you ever feel yourself stuck , feel a loss of direction or caught in a negative cycle and low mood.

Are these difficulties causing obstacles and preventing you from moving towards you’re desired goals or the life you truly deserve.

If you feel you can relate to the above statements talking to someone could greatly benefit you in moving forward in a positive way.

I understand making the decision to access therapy can be a daunting process. It’s completely normal to feel nervous. As someone who has benefited from therapy and coaching in the past I know that feeling of uncertainty yet I also know first hand how valuable taking those steps can be.

Getting started

I believe finding the right therapist is one of the most important parts of counselling which is why I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation offering you the chance to ask any questions you may have have and discuss what it is you would hope to gain from having therapy.

This is also an opportunity for to get an idea if I am the right therapist for you. If you feel happy to continue we can arrange an initial first session and gently progress from there.

Alternatively I am more than happy to answer any questions via email.

Benefits of therapy

Therapy has many benefits. Having someone impartial to offer a safe confidential space to be heard and understood is invaluable. Therapy allows you to gain better understanding of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and empowers you to explore new ways of thinking.

My overall aim is to ensure you are heard and valued whilst working towards developing a better understanding of yourself.

My main focus is to gain an understanding of your needs and offer you the space to explore any thoughts, feelings or life situations that you may be finding difficult. Whilst working towards the best possible solution for you to move forward.

I work as an integrative person centred counsellor which allows me to use techniques from other therapeutic models. Allowing you to develop better coping strategies which will help towards building confidence and emotional resilience around the presenting issues.

Change can happen and things can get better.

The most common feedback I receive off clients is that I am patient, understanding, genuine, down to earth and ‘real talking’.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
