About me
- Is anxiety, depression, and past experiences keeping you stuck?
- Are you having a difficult time with relationships in your life?
- Do you find yourself ruminating and worrying. Or lacking in confidence in certain areas?
- Or do you suffer with a chronic exhaustive condition or burnout?
I’m Sophie, a qualified person centred counsellor, and I hold sessions at Leaf Health in Llandudno, which is a relaxed and comfortable space. I also offer sessions via Zoom. Evening sessions available via zoom.
Having had experience in working with clients with a variety of issues, I help people develop a deeper understanding, of their stress, overwhelm and anxiety, and collaborate with them to look at ways to overcome and reduce the impact on their lives. Once we have had a chat on the phone initially, our first session will be around ensuring you are comfortable to open up, and we will go at your pace. Often clients worry about what to say in session, it's important to know that you can just be yourself and there is no pressure, I will be there to guide and support.
My approach is empathic, exploratory, and pluralistic which means adapting to the individual needs of each client and working in a way that is beneficial for them. There is often route causes or drivers that are keeping us stuck, and there are many ways to uncover and work with this.
I am passionate about working alongside clients to gain clarity at a deeper level, to make way for wellbeing and a sense of freedom from painful emotions and experiences.
I also have additional training in chronic illness such as M.E/CFS and Fibromyalgia, Having lived experience of M.E/CFS, and having made a full recovery via a recovery service I now offer education, support and a pathway to recover. I also regularly run group presentations on 'Introduction to Recovery of Chronic Exhaustive Conditions' at charities and organisations.
Feel free to call me to ask any questions or just to get a feel to see if I am the right counsellor for you. I offer a free 15 minute consultation via Zoom or telephone.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
