About me

  • Is anxiety, loneliness, and past experiences keeping you stuck?
  • Are you having a difficult time with relationships in your life?
  • Do you find yourself ruminating and worrying. Or lacking in confidence in certain areas?
  • Or do you suffer with a chronic exhaustive condition or burnout?

I’m Sophie, an integrative counsellor,  I hold sessions at Leaf Health Llandudno, a relaxed and comfortable setting.  I also offer sessions online.

Having had experience in working with clients with a variety of issues, I help people develop a deeper understanding of their overwhelm, anxiety and trauma, and collaborate with them to look at ways to overcome and reduce the impact on their lives.

I apply various approaches to ensure we are working on issues that are below surface level, so we aren't just talking about the problem, we are shifting and completing on a visceral level.

After our free initial telephone/zoom chat, our first session will be around ensuring you are comfortable to open up, and we will go at your pace.  Often clients worry about what to say, it's important to know that you can just be yourself and there is no pressure, I will be there to guide and support.

My approach is empathic, exploratory, and pluralistic which means adapting to the individual needs of each client and working in a way that is beneficial for them.  There is often route causes or drivers that are keeping us stuck, and there are many ways to uncover and work with this.   I also naturally take a psychodynamic approach which is looking at how our past experiences shape our personality and how we feel, aswel as somatic enquiry (how emotions manifest in our body not just in our mind).

I have additional training and specialise in chronic illness such as M.E/CFS and Fibromyalgia. Having lived experience of M.E/CFS, and having made a full recovery, I now offer education, support and a pathway to understanding your symptoms through to symptom improvement.

Feel free to call me to ask any questions or get a feel to see if I am the right counsellor for you. I offer a free 15 minute consultation via Zoom or telephone.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
