About me

I am a qualified BACP registered integrative counsellor and psychotherapist; meaning that I offer clients a bespoke approach to therapy, based upon their unique needs and experiences, bringing together elements of humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT). I offer in person sessions at my private practice either in Clapham Junction or Richmond; as well as offering online sessions.

Life can often present us with situations that evoke a range of intense and disorientating feelings, thoughts and emotions. At times, we may be able tolerate this range of emotions, potentially talking to family and friends, whilst at other times, we may struggle, experiencing low self-esteem, fear, anger, anxiety, loneliness and isolation.

Therapy can offer a non-judgemental space to explore these challenging feelings and experiences, perhaps for the first time, enabling a better understanding of ourselves.

I strive to be alongside you in whatever you may be feeling, providing a genuine, empathetic, non-judgemental, safe space where at your pace, you can potentially learn more about yourself, explore your feelings in regards to both present and past experiences and promote your overall mental and emotional well-being, developing the personal resilience and growth that you may be seeking.

I have worked extensively within an NHS counselling service, working with individuals facing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, domestic abuse, loss of self, past and present trauma, sexual issues, work related issues and mid-life issues. For the past two years, I have also worked within a specialist bereavement service, being alongside those who have lost loved ones within the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic.

Prior to training as a psychotherapist and counsellor, I worked for 10 years within both the Statutory and Charity sectors, in various roles, supporting those in complex crisis situations including those who had been impacted by homelessness, crime, care proceedings and domestic abuse.

How I Work

I work with individuals aged 17+, and can offer both in person sessions at my private practice in Clapham Junction (a short 5 minute walk from the station on Battersea Rise) or in private practice rooms in Richmond Town Centre; as well as online sessions.

You can see me for a short term period to perhaps explore something in particular that's challenging you or we can work together with in a open-ended, longer term manner.

After you have made contact, we would have a free initial session online allowing us to get to know one another. If you decided I was the right therapist for you, we would arrange a 50 min regular session each week and agree whether you would like this to take place face to face or online.

Please feel free to get in touch for a no-commitment chat, to discuss your individual needs or ask any questions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
