About me

My experience enables me to offer effective and individualised counselling for both individuals and couples. I can help with mental health issues, and provide a safe and neutral ground. At leaf counselling I strongly believe the key to the success of therapy is the strength of the therapeutic relationship. Having someone to talk to who is really listening can be a healing experience in itself.

I offer, with warmth and sensitivity, a confidential and non-judgemental space where we can explore whatever is on your mind.

I am an integrative counsellor meaning I believe there isn't just one therapeutic approach that can help you (The Client) in all situations. Instead, I consider you as an individual and your circumstances and use elements of different approaches to help you explore and cope with your problems.

You might want to talk to me about feeling anxious or depressed, a stressful life event, health related worries, dealing with a bereavement or loss, relationship difficulties or breakdowns, trauma you have experienced, work related issues e.g. bullying or discrimination, or identity struggles.

I can help you by providing a calm and reflective space where we can work through what is going on for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked as a therapist in a variety of settings within the voluntary and EAP sectors working with a wide range of issues and with clients of all ages.

I believe a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is key to bringing about change. I work in an integrative way which means I use a range of different counselling theories and techniques depending on the nature of the issue, and will tailor my approach to what might work best to meet your needs.

We would work together at a pace that suits you.

I  provide affordable high quality counselling that is tailored to you as an individual. We provide counselling at a time and place that suits you, this can be face to face, video and telephone.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
