About me
Hi, welcome to my page, I am Shelley, a dedicated and compassionate professional counsellor. I have worked for over ten years as a Parent Family Support Adviser in schools, where I have been helping and supporting both children and their families through a range of situations. I also worked as a Forest School Leader and have seen the therapeutic benefits of spending time in nature.
Seeing how important mental health is on life's journey inspired me to develop my skills further and I chose to retrain as a counsellor.
I have a small private practice, where I offer short or long term person-centred counselling for adults and young people. I am happy to work either face to face with clients in my garden room or if it is easier I am happy to work online.
I work with any emotional or mental health issues such as stress, depression, bereavement, loneliness, family issues, life changes or transitions with a special interest in anxiety and eating disorders.
I also offer Walk & Talk therapy which allows us to take the session outside and into nature.
I have cultivated a holistic approach, that values each client's unique journey and fosters a safe space for exploration and healing. I have studied and worked with a number of different approaches to counselling which allows me to bring a variety of ideas to your sessions and may help deepen your understanding of yourself and your behaviours.
I am only too aware of how easy it can be to feel completely overwhelmed and how difficult it can be to ask for help.
By opening up and talking it may enable you to find clarity, new direction, develop inner strength and resources to grow a more positive outlook for the future or enable acceptance and resilience in your current situation.
Please email me if you have any questions, or if you would like to arrange a free 20 minute initial consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.
