About me
Hi, my name is Sharon and I help young adults (14+) to heal from family wounds and build stronger relationships.
If you grew up with a parent who struggled with addiction, or without the presence and stability of a loving caregiver, its no surprise adult relationships may feel confusing, overwhelming or unsafe. I help young adults to make sense of their relationship patterns so they can build the kind of relationships they never had modelled - grounded in trust, respect and emotional security.
This work is personal for me.
I was raised without a father and by a mother who struggled with addiction. For years, I wrestled with the emotional aftermath of my upbringing - the confusion, the loneliness and the deep questioning of what it means to feel safe, loved or (and) worthy in relationships. I understand the emotional burden that can follow you into adulthood when your earliest relationships were unpredictable or painful. That lived experience together with my clinical training allows me to hold space for your story with compassion and understanding.
In therapy we will work together to:
- Understand how early experiences affect current relationships
- Heal from people-pleasing, avoidance or self-blame
- Set boundaries and communicate needs with confidence
- Explore generational cycles and how to break them
- Build emotionally safe, meaningful connections
You deserve to feel safe, empowered and supported - and I’m here to help you get there. I offer either virtual or in-person sessions and would be honoured to support you to create the relationships and life you deserve.
The Next Step
It is important to me for us to create a counselling relationship where you can feel safe and comfortable to talk. I offer a free 30 minute telephone session for you to ask questions, to explore what you would like to get out of counselling and to see and feel what it is like to work with me. Drop me a message today to set up your call.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
