About me
I am committed to supporting people through life's challenges and exploring with you how to help increase your mental well-being. I am trained in Integrative Counselling and have experience working with a broad range of issues, mainly with Anxiety and Low Mood for adults and teenagers. I also specialise in bereavement and loss and those living with life-limiting illness.
My aim is to help you understand your situation and be able to move forward in your life, feeling supported and with hope for the future. Everyone's experience of life is unique and as an Integrative Therapist, I can draw from different theories and techniques to support you and tailor the work to your specific needs.
From my experience of working with young people, I can provide support on issues such as bullying, low self-esteem, self-harm, anger and relationship troubles. Helping to have a clearer understanding of how things are and exploring ways to make positive life changes. I work with compassion and kindness to enable you to feel supported in a non-judgemental and safe space.
Before I became a Counsellor, I have worked for many years in the aviation industry and understanding how stress takes a toll on your body and mind is what led me to become a counsellor.
The Next Step
It is important to me for us to create a counselling relationship where you can feel safe and comfortable to talk. I am happy to set up a complimentary 30 minute Zoom or telephone session for you to ask questions, to explore what you would like to get out of counselling and to see and feel what it is like to meet with me from the comfort of your own home.
Getting in touch will be the first step towards feeling better and I look forward to speaking with you soon if you choose to take the next step.
With warmest wishes
Sharon

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
