About me
Welcome – I’m Sarah, a dedicated and compassionate Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Person-Centred Counsellor.
With a strong commitment to supporting individuals in their emotional wellbeing, I take a holistic, whole-person approach to therapy—recognising that each individual is unique, shaped by their personal experiences, values, and strengths. My practice is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and respect, ensuring that you feel safe, heard, and valued from the very first session.
I have extensive experience working with a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, PTSD, traumatic bereavement (including loss through suicide), grief, abuse, relationship difficulties, and low self-esteem. I firmly believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy. Instead, I tailor my support to meet your individual needs, drawing from both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Person-Centred Counselling to facilitate meaningful and lasting change.
As a trauma-informed practitioner, I have specific experience supporting adults and young people who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and those affected by large-scale traumatic events, including acts of terrorism such as the 2017 Manchester Arena attack. I understand the profound and often complex impact trauma can have and offer a sensitive, measured approach that supports healing at your own pace.
At the core of my practice is the belief that every person holds the potential to heal, grow, and thrive when given the right environment and tools. I provide a confidential, non-judgemental, and respectful space where you can explore your concerns safely, develop self-awareness, and move towards your personal goals. My role is to walk alongside you—helping you to reconnect with your inner strength, overcome internal barriers, and create positive, lasting change.
If you’re ready to take the first steps towards emotional healing, building confidence, and creating a more fulfilling life, I am here to support and empower you on that journey.
I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and practise in accordance with their ethical framework and professional guidelines.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
