About me

I'm an experienced therapist offering counselling and psychotherapy for a wide range of issues which include; anxiety (including social, health, panic and prenatal and postnatal anxiety), depression, stress, grief and bereavement, low self-esteem and unwanted repetitive thoughts, trauma (including sexual trauma and rape), fertility treatment IVF/IUI, birth trauma, binge eating, body image and identity changes including body shame and the highs and lows of parenting.

I have a special interest and experience in supporting people who are going through fertility treatment, pelvic organ prolapse (POP), and helping people with birth trauma, and postpartum body confidence.

My expertise is in helping people to make sense of their thoughts, feelings and behaviour, helping you to grieve lost potential, lost relationships and lost parts of yourself, and to heal.

You may be feeling like there is something wrong with you or that you are feeling lonely and it has become hard to keep up with appearances. Perhaps you ask yourself 'why does this always happen to me?' or 'why does life feel so hard?'

I offer long-term and short-term counselling both in person and online. I have trained with ACTO which means I am able to offer sessions creatively and safely online.

If you are feeling lost and not knowing who you are anymore then please get in touch.

Pelvic organ prolapse (POP)

I am now offering both individual and group support for women suffering from pelvic organ prolapse (POP) - there is support out there for the physical side of this condition - physiotherapy, pessaries and surgery and lots of groups to talk about these aspects - the support I provide is specifically to target the mental health and wellbeing side of living with this condition which I don't think is talked about enough - to help you make sense of the discomfort, shame, isolation, loss of sexual identity and identity as a woman that this condition can bring up - please contact me for more information and how to join the group or 1-2-1 support.

New parent 'walk and talk' sessions

I have teamed up with a colleague to offer new parents low-cost 'walk and talk' sessions in specific parks in London and Surrey. Bring your newborn or young baby with you, either in a carrier or a pushchair (the routes are pushchair-friendly) and benefit from some fresh air and exercise whilst receiving counselling support - help fit counselling into your life with a newborn!

Please contact me to arrange an initial session - let’s discuss your situation and how I can help you to move forward. If you have any questions, I offer a free 20 minute call which you can easily book here.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Transactional Analysis
  • Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy
  • Membership with UKATA United Kingdom Association of Transactional Analysis
  • Membership with ACTO Association for Counselling and Therapy Online
  • Registered Member British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I am qualified in both Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and Integrative Psychotherapy and I blend these two therapies to bring clients a personalised approach.

I have been working with clients in private practice since 2019 and I have also worked for a major mental health charity, Mind both as a therapist, and as a manager running their therapy service, and as a trainer providing training in online therapy for other therapists.

I see clients both face-to-face and online, via Zoom - I have undergone extensive additional training in working safely and effectively online, and I have also trained other therapists in working online.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Identity issues - unsure who you are, there is something wrong or bad about you and you've always felt like that, confused, not sure how you feel or what you think.
