About me

I'm an experienced therapist offering counselling and psychotherapy for a wide range of common problems which include; anxiety, depression, stress, loss and bereavement, low self-esteem and unwanted repetitive thoughts, critical thoughts, trauma, binge eating, body image and identity issues.

An area of special interest is helping people find their authentic selves - the ‘you’ that the world doesn’t see very often - hidden under layers of people pleasing, trying to be perfect, feeling exhausted, both mentally and physically, due to adapting to what other people want - and a feeling that you aren’t sure who you really are, underneath.

I also have specialist training and experience to support you whilst undergoing fertility treatment, with pre-natal and post-natal depression and anxiety, birth trauma and miscarriage.

I offer one-to-one sessions for adults looking to gain more self-awareness and more skills in managing both their relationship with themselves (their self esteem) and their relationships with others. This involves talking about things that happened in your past, and how those experiences shaped your sense of identity, your self-esteem, and what you’ve come to expect from other people and the world. Through an understanding of what you needed, at those times, both physically and emotionally, healing can take place and your critical inner voice can be replaced with a nurturing, compassionate inner voice - a lasting resource for your next steps.

If you are feeling lost and not knowing who you are anymore then please get in touch.

  • Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy
  • Integrative, Relational and Developmentally-based Psychotherapy
  • Trauma training
  • Inner child work
  • Critical inner voices.

Please contact me to arrange an initial session - let’s discuss your situation and how I can help you to move forward. If you have any questions, I offer a free 20 minute call which you can easily book here.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Transactional Analysis
  • Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy
  • Membership with UKATA United Kingdom Association of Transactional Analysis
  • Accredited Member British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I am qualified in both Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and Integrative Psychotherapy and I blend these two therapies to bring clients a personalised approach.

I have been working with clients in private practice since 2019 and I have also worked for a major mental health charity, Mind both as a therapist, and as a manager running their therapy service, and as a trainer providing training in online therapy for other therapists.

I see clients both face-to-face and online, via Zoom - I have undergone extensive additional training in working safely and effectively online, and I have also trained other therapists in working online.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
