About me

I am a qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist. I work with adults and young people. I offer a safe comfortable environment. A space where you can feel free to talk about challenges and issues effecting how you are coping with your life day to day. Counselling can help you to overcome these issues that are holding you back and help you to move forward towards a positive future.

As a qualified CBT therapist {Cognitive Behaviour Therapy}. I will work with you to overcome issues that are often out of our control and that leave us feeling anxious and alone.

It is hard to find support and the right person to talk to if you solely rely on family and friends. As a counsellor I offer you a safe environment where there is no judgement and no right or wrong way of dealing with your issues.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Foundation Degree in Counselling CBT { Cognitive Behaviour Therapy }.
  • Level 2 and 3 Counselling Skills
  • Myton Bereavement Therapist/ Counsellor

I have many years of experience in bereavement counselling having worked at Myton Hospice. I provided counselling to the dying and to family and children of the deceased. CBT is very beneficial in treating anxiety, depression and low self-esteem which have a huge impact on our daily life, I also work in a very person centred way tailoring our sessions to suit your individual needs.

The aim is to build a genuinely warm and respectful relationship between client and therapist exploring your challenges together, working at your pace with regular sessions to ensure your expectations are being met. This is your opportunity to be heard and accepted in confidence and improve your outlook and wellbeing.

The highest mountain is climbed taking small steps. It can feel incredibly overwhelming to admit you need help because you don't know what to expect. Calling or emailing me is the start of your journey and together we can explore your reasons for seeking support.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
