About me

I work with integrity, compassion, respect and understanding, tailoring the support offered by listening without judgement and meeting each individuals needs, covering the Grantham and Rutland area.

I offer a supportive & safe, un-prejudiced and nurturing approach, enabling you to identify difficulties, worries and feelings detrimentally impacting on your every day life, in a comfortable environment, to achieve better insight and a transformational outcome.

My ethos is to co-create change. Our work together will allow you to explore overwhelming feelings, consider triggers & patterns to negative or destructive thinking, contemplate influences to your behaviours & attitudes and to work towards empowerment, positive change and sustained optimism.

The therapeutic journey is one of self-discovery and reflection. I believe you have an innate ability to find your own solutions when difficulties are experienced and my aim is to explore with you, supporting you to find inner strength, gain a better understanding of yourself, manage your feelings more effectively and lead you to increased self-worth.

I specialise in bereavement, anxiety, adolescent struggles and low self-esteem.

I have worked with a diverse variety of clients privately, within their own homes and in a School environment and have a wealth of knowledge in self-harm, family/relationship issues and suicidal thoughts, with much of my work focusing on tackling the inner critic and building resilience.

I adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics.

Location

My office is located in Grantham Town Centre, within walking distance of the train station.

Car parking is available on-site, by request.

Initial Meeting

Finding a Therapist where you feel trust can be built, who offers the type of therapeutic alliance and environment that you feel will work for you is imperative. With this in mind, I offer an initial consultation appointment without any obligation, where you are able to tell me a little about your story, where we are able to consider your goals & targets, for us to together decide if what I offer meets your needs. This (and all future sessions) will last for 1 hour. This initial session is offered at £22.50  (50% of the standard fee).

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Qualified Cruse Bereavement Leicestershire and Rutland Counsellor Volunteer, working with them for a number of years, worked as a Secondary School Counsellor promoting positive emotional well-being with 11-17 year olds and offering support in Private Practice for those seeking therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
