About me
Why Counselling?
If you are reading this it might mean that you are not feeling happy within yourself. These feelings can manifest themselves into our lives in different ways: people pleasing; self harming; perfectionism; alcohol and substance abuse; and over controlling behaviour are among the many. They can lead to feelings of depression and anxiety or shame. These coping mechanisms might have helped whilst growing up, but can disrupt our lives as we get older. If you feel you want to change the direction you've been going in, then seeing a counsellor can be a choice that can help you build your self-esteem.
How I work
I will work in an integrative way, using Psychodynamic and Person centred counselling, this means I will work with you depending on what you need individually, working in the present and looking at your past. We will start with six sessions, and after a review, you can decide if you would like to continue with counselling. I have been told that my clients feel empowered when they have finished their counselling with me, having been given the tools and voice to face the world.
My Experience
Previously, I have volunteered as a school counsellor, working with teenagers, who came to me with the worries and traumas of their lives from home and school. I have also volunteered as a counsellor at a charity for alcohol and substance abuse, gently working with clients with their many diverse reasons why they became addicted to start with, including:
- ADHD
- LGBTQIA+ traumas,
- Domestic abuse,
- Long term grief,
- Bullying,
- OCD
- Childhood trauma
- Childhood rejection
- Anger issues
- Parents separation
- Relationship trauma
What's next
Call or email me if you would like a chat about how I work, and to see if we are the right fit, which is really important so we can build up a relationship of trust and respect and for you to feel safe.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I work from the Centre for Counselling in central Bromley. It's a 5-minute walk from Bromley North station, and buses stop right outside and there are numerous places to park in the area. It has comfortable rooms which are a safe place for you to talk through your worries.
