About me

You might find yourself seeking therapy for a number of reasons; anxiety, grief, depression, addiction, life events, relationships or to improve your wellbeing regardless of what has brought you here, I believe we have the power to explore, challenge and grow to find that inner voice and to regain our power. So well done for making that first step and looking out of you.

It can be hard to open up and speak to someone about what is going on, but whatever your reason for making that first step, with me as your Counsellor I can offer you a safe space free of judgement in which we can explore what issues arise for you.

My style is gentle, informal and compassionate with my base training being in person-centred therapy. My approach is to treat individual clients holistically, as I feel that mind, body and spirit impacts our psyche. I offer you a safe space which is non-judgemental and allows you to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BACP registered member and have experience dealing with a range of clients from various backgrounds.

I am committed to an open and transparent practice and want you to feel confident that I am ethical, professional and that my work is of an exceptional quality. I have an enhanced Disclosure and Baring service (DBS) check and I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

I work on a one to one basis, sessions are normally weekly or fortnightly for 50 minutes either via telephone or video.

I offer online sessions via video or telephone and on some occasion's outdoor therapy. Online therapy has the same benefits of face-to-face therapy and many state they prefer the convenience of having the session where they want without the worry of traveling to appointments. I have a flexible approach and timing and session frequency can be tailored to client's needs.

1 offer short/medium/long-term therapy with the number of sessions led by your needs, the issues and the progress we make. This will be reviewed regularly so changes can be made accordingly.

Further information

Many cultures do not recognise the impact that mental health can have on us an individuals, with many communities not talking about mental health making the stigma of dealing with mental health problems even more difficult than they need to be. There are pressures sometimes from society, family and our own expectations which can make navigating life more challenging and at times overwhelming. I am a dedicated and empathic therapist and here to listen, make you feel supported and accepted. Your lived experience will be welcomed and respected in the therapeutic relationship we build. I can speak in both English and Panjabi therefore giving you the flexibility should you need to speak one/both languages in the session, with sometimes the conversation flowing beautifully between both allowing you to express yourself fully without any fear of judgement.
