About me
I am a qualified integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor and a member of the National Counselling Society. I use an integrative approach drawing on such therapeutic models as Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic and Transactional Analysis (TA). As part of my integrative approach, I draw on inner child work and attachment-based theory to support deeper understanding and healing. Integrative counselling provides a unique, flexible and personalised approach that is suited to the individual needs of the client. Counselling sessions are available on a weekly, bi-weekly, every three weeks, or monthly basis, depending on what works best for you and your needs.
I offer short-term and long-term counselling and psychotherapy, working with a wide range of issues including stress, anxiety, depression, low mood, loss and bereavement, self-esteem, motivation, body image, self- defeating behaviour, relationship issues, social anxiety, loneliness, life transitions and many more. My areas of specialism include social anxiety, generalised anxiety, and bereavement.
I am very passionate about my work and am dedicated to helping ease distress. I offer a safe, calm, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to explore what has brought you to counselling at your own pace.
I dedicate time each week to thoroughly prepare for your sessions based on your unique needs, drawing on a wide range of modalities. I provide tailored resources and materials to support your personal growth, which we can explore together during your counselling sessions, as well as use between sessions.
These resources are intended to support you throughout your counselling journey and can continue to be a helpful reference even after our work together has ended.
I see the therapeutic process as a collaborative endeavour to empower the individual. By empowering the client through collaborative counselling my focus is on helping the client build the tools for a positive change in their life and developing skills they can continue to use after the counselling sessions end. I use this collaborative approach to define the client's therapeutic goals and together we will work on a plan, drawing on a varied toolkit, to help you achieve them. Through exploring experience during the counselling sessions and looking for meaning the client will gain a greater sense of themselves and their potential.
Taking the first step can feel difficult, but it can also be the beginning of real change. I offer a free 20-minute initial phone consultation, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of how I work.
