About me
Hello and welcome to my page. I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and have 9 years post qualifying experience within various core professional settings. I have a BSc degree in Child, Young Person and Family Studies, a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies.
Sometimes it’s easy to get overwhelmed with the stress and pressure of life. If left unattended these stresses can take their toll and leave us feeling depressed, anxious and fatigued. I aim to provide clients with a safe and supportive environment where they can overcome their personal difficulties through the practice of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence recommends CBT as the most effective therapy for anxiety disorders and depression. CBT is a talking therapy that aims to address those negative thoughts and behaviours that often hinder people from reaching their full potential. The overall aim of CBT is to give people the tools to become their own therapist, by promoting self-reflection and providing practical ways to improve a person's state of mind on a day to day basis. All therapeutic interventions are targeted pieces of work and are orientated around a person's goals to ensure that all difficulties are addressed in a timely manner.
I'm able to support people with the following difficulties:
- Depression
- Panic Disorder
- Health Anxiety
- Generalised Anxiety Disorder
- Perfectionism
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Low self-esteem
- Specific Phobia
Getting Started:
• Please feel free to ring or email me to arrange an initial session.
• During your initial session we can discuss your reasons for wanting to access therapy and look at what you’d like to get out of this experience. If you feel happy to progress we will then look at arranging weekly sessions.
CBT offers targeted interventions to support with a wide range of difficulties. I will work openly and transparently to support you in reaching your therapy goals in a timely manner. But most importantly all support will be provided at your pace.
