About me

Hello and welcome to Sana Te Psychotherapy. I’m Rachael and I welcome you to my page. Here is a little about me and my practice. I have worked for more than 25 years within university education, and currently within front line services and a local hospice alongside my private practice. These, and lived experiences, have allowed me to deeply understand and connect with how the impact traumas and emotional experiences have on your everyday life.  I am passionate about how strong the healing process can be when the right relationship qualities, approach and care are offered to you. I am also a qualified peri menopause/menopause wellbeing practitioner and am passionate about supporting women through this challenging part of life, as well as other transitional times of life.

Having worked with people experiencing a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, low self-esteem, grief and traumas from working environments or unresolved childhood wounds, I have and continue to develop my practice and therapeutic services I offer to support you in whatever you are experiencing. I am passionate about supporting people who are in emotional distress.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and this means I put you at the centre of our therapeutic relationship. I also bring elements of CBT and Psychodynamic work which supports learning about your childhood experiences and how they may impact on you now. My core belief is that you are the expert on yourself and how you are feeling and I would consider it a privilege to be beside you and share your journey to healing. I provide a warm, empathic, safe, non-judgmental space where you are fully accepted and welcomed as you are. I offer a free introductory telephone consultation to establish how we might begin the work together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
