About me
Hello and thank you for looking at my profile. Maybe you are reading this because you are not feeling great right now: perhaps you're anxious, have low self-esteem or family/relationship issues. Perhaps you're grieving.
Maybe I can help - through my integrative approach to psychotherapy and counselling I draw on different strategies, which can include creative work, to tailor therapy to your needs..
I offer online, telephone and in-person therapy and counselling in Leicester and at my therapy room at Rutland House Counselling and Psychotherapy in Leicester city centre.
If your issue is one that I do not work with, then I will do my utmost to direct you to more information or to someone else who might be able to help you.
A previous client has consented to my sharing of the words below:
"Thank you for working with me. I can't explain how amazing the experience was...It has been hugely beneficial in so many areas of my life".

My practice abides by the ethical guidelines of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute and hold the Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy at Masters level (Level 7).
I hold the TA 101 certificate in Transactional Analysis.
I have experience of working therapeutically with adults who have survived trauma and abuse including childhood sexual abuse and neglect; who are suffering with anxiety and/or depression; low self-confidence and self-esteem; loneliness; identity issues; terminal health diagnoses; relationship/family issues; stress; bereavement, grief and loss.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
All fees are to be paid before sessions take place - by bank transfer or cash, in blocks of four. This can then be reviewed every four weeks to see if you wish to continue and to ensure that you do not feel pressured to commit to a long-term contract if this is not something that you feel that you need.
