About me

Life can be an overwhelming mix of stress, anxiety, or even darker thoughts. Do you ever feel needy in relationships? Or maybe you start to get close to someone then back away? I can help you understand what may be going on.  Maybe you're a survivor of trauma or violence, carrying burdens that feel too heavy to share.

As a Person-Centred therapist with expertise in trauma and attachment. I will offer a confidential space where you can be heard without judgment, and develop the skills to heal and grow. I can help you to be able to process your emotions, enabling you to better understand yourself and any difficult feelings. I can help guide you to find solutions that will work for you.

With regards to attachment, we can look at your relationships with your partner, parents, or friends and explore with kindness about what they may lack. This will help you understand and gain awareness.

I am experienced with working with sexual abuse survivors and have a deeper understanding of what trauma can do to the body and mind.

We often can find that our loved ones, despite their best intentions, simply don't have the tools to fully understand what we're going through. This is where professional support can make a difference.

You can share any aspect of your life with me and you will, seen, heard, and feel validated in a non-judgemental, safe and confidential space. I have a private and calm therapy room where you can be yourself, with no façade or brave face and I will accept for who you are.

In our first session you can expect a warm welcome and a comfy seat with cushions and a fluffy blanket. I will introduce myself and explain the contract to you. You will then have a chance to share what may be going on in your life right now and I will listen attentively. There is no right way to share how you are feeling, you can go as slow or as fast as you like, as, I will clarify anything I don't understand.

I understand that therapy may feel like a daunting process to embark on but sometimes we just need someone who will really care and support us, without the 'just get on with it' notion.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
