About me

We can all at times find life challenging or have ideas about what our needs are that we need to explore. This can be best done with someone who has no vested interest in your choices except for you to feel as comfortable as possible in who you are. Therapy can be the space for that.

I stay grounded in the idea that at your core you know what is right for you and believe with understanding and respect together, we can strip back the noise to distinguish your thoughts, feelings and desires from those around you and society. I am here to listen and support you whilst you unpack these.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified integrative counsellor and a registered BACP member.

I have experience working with people of different ages and backgrounds across a wide range of issues including common life problems, bereavement, abuse and relationship issues.

I understand each person has a unique life experience and history and aim to offer you a space to explore what this means to you and together explore how this has and is impacting you.

I believe the therapeutic relationship can offer a supportive and grounding opportunity to explore all that life offers us as individuals including growth, challenge and change.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Please contact me if you feel you’re interested in starting therapy with me. I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation to see if working together feels right for you.

If we agree on a first session, I will send you a contract with details about confidentiality, my professional boundaries and how I maintain the safety of your personal details to review and sign.

Our first session will be spent exploring your personal history, what brings you to counselling at this time and establishing how we will work together moving forward.

You may prefer to agree a time limited amount of sessions or an open ended long term agreement both are possible and I will be led by your needs and we can continue to review this as we go along.
