About me

I offer a safe and empathic space where you can feel at ease to be yourself and feel truly heard, to be able to explore any difficult thoughts and emotions you may be experiencing. My aim is to help facilitate and to develop greater self awareness in order to promote personal growth in a supportive environment.

I am a qualified counsellor offering online and face to face therapy, working with adults. As a psychodynamic counsellor I look at unconscious thought processes and behaviour patterns and how our past can have a direct influence on the present. I will work collaboratively with you in order to move towards the process of change.

With a background in business, I am able to draw from my experiences of working under pressured environment, as well as how life pressures can have an impact on one's life. My background in Psychology and Sociology has contributed towards my interest in relationships and the human condition.

My diverse background gives me a good understanding of difference and diversity. I have had experience of working with a diverse range of client groups with presenting issues around anxiety, depression, low mood, self-esteem, loss, identity, cultural difference, family and relationships issues.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications include:

Level 5 diploma in Psychodynamic counselling.

BA (Hons) in Psychology and Sociology.

I am a registered member of the BACP.

I have experience of working with a wide range of clients, I am currently working in private practice at the Awareness centre as well as remotely.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
