About me

I am a warm and welcoming counsellor, working to provide clients with a relationship and space to explore their concerns, and discover solutions.

I have over 15 years experience in working with adults and young adults who; have experienced personal trauma, are searching for their place in the world, tackling difficulties, re-evaluating ideas of what the future holds, and wanting to feel at peace with their history.

Throughout our time together we will regularly review your goals to ensure you are getting what you need from counselling.

I have worked extensively with both men and women; vulnerable adults, people who have caused harm to themselves or others, different age groups and cultures, and unique sexual and gender identities.

I believe that what connects us all is our desire to live in relationship with others and to work towards realising our talents and potential.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a FdSc Counselling (Humanistic; integrating Person Centred, Gestalt and Existential theory), have experience in counselling adults and young adults over the age of 18 and am a Registered member of BACP.

I also have considerable experience as a practitioner delivering behaviour change, therapeutic interventions including; Emotion Regulation and Healthy Relationships, based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), working with an extremely diverse range of backgrounds.

My experience extends to 'in person' and 'remote' counselling, and individual and group work, although not couples counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
