About me

I'm a registered integrative counsellor and coach working with a range of challenges including low self-esteem, work related stress, generalised anxiety (including social anxiety), depression, relationship challenges, grief and loss (whether related to bereavement or a life change), among others.

You can find a full list of matters I can support with in the Areas of counselling I deal with section below. The list is not exhaustive.

Life's ups and downs might have left you feeling overwhelmed, alone or stuck, but you don't need to handle everything on your own. Clients who have worked with me say that I have helped them develop a greater sense of self-awareness, self-worth, empathy for themselves and others, and a greater ability to navigate life's ebbs and flows.

Clients say they leave the sessions lighter, calmer, more confident in themselves, with a new understanding of their challenges and how to manage these challenges.

I work with you to help you develop new resources and skills that fit where and who you are in the present moment. For example, techniques to manage anxiety or strategies to communicate and establish healthy boundaries.

Working with me, you can expect to deepen your understanding of yourself, the unique resources and skills you possess, how these might support you and what else you need in order to get where you want to go.

If you have any questions or would like to book a consultation with me then I would like to welcome you to send me an email here

I work with English and Romanian speaking clients. Daca iti este mai usor sa te exprimi in romana, sau vrei sa folosesti romana si engleza pe parcursul terapiei, pot lucra cu tine in modul asta.

What to expect once we connect

After you connect with me, we will arrange an initial 15 min video call which allows you to ask any questions you have before booking your consultation session. Please note: a consultation session is not a therapy session.

The consultation lasts an hour, and during this session, I ask more detailed questions about what has brought you to counselling, and then we decide how you would like to proceed. There will be no obligation to book another appointment. For you to gain the most from your sessions, it is important that you feel comfortable working with me.

You can find more about my working days, areas of work and fees if you scroll down on this page.

Moving forward

Once you decide to work with me, we will arrange a weekly time to fit with our availability. The number of sessions is flexible around your needs. We will review our work periodically to assess what these needs are as our work progresses.

My therapeutic approach

I work holistically and aim to build a collaborative, non-judgmental, confidential, safe space for you to explore whatever brings you to therapy. My integrative approach to therapy allows me to draw from several therapeutic modalities so that I can tailor the counselling process to your unique situation and individual needs. We can't control life, but we can manage how we respond to it.

I see my role as supporting you in finding your own meaning and flow in life. Whether you want to explore your present or your past, or perhaps you need support with achieving your aspirations, my counselling, therapeutic and coaching professional training allows me to adjust my work to your therapeutic goals.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • PGDip Integrative Counselling and Coaching (University of East London)
  • Diploma in Hypnotherapy (Hypnotherapy Training International)
  • Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS) Certification
  • Advanced Specialist Bereavement Support Foundation course (Cruse Bereavement Support)
  • Level 2 Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences Certification
  • Single Session Therapy CPD Certification

Alongside my private practice, I have provided hundreds of hours of in-person and online counselling services for local charities, among which Mind - East London branch (THNR).

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an English-Romanian community interpreter. In this role, I worked with interdisciplinary teams and gained an understanding of the challenges faced by many Romanians living in the UK. I am happy to use this knowledge, my own experience and my expertise to help my Romanian clients better understand themselves, heal past wounds, find new ways of navigating life, and feel calmer, among others.

To offer my clients the best possible service, I had personal therapy along the way. I also continue to engage in professional development courses and maintain appropriate and relevant yearly CPD.

I am currently undertaking a diploma course in Attachment-based therapy, a type of therapy that can be used to treat anxiety disorders, unresolved childhood trauma, and relationship issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Loss and grief are part and parcel of the human experience. Regardless of gender, age, race, or social status, we all experience loss, in one form or another, throughout our lifetime. I have a particular interest in supporting people going through the grief process. My interest in working with grief and loss has led me to volunteer in an elderly care ward with Imperial Charity and train with Cruse Bereavement Services.

As an expat, I understand the experience of adjusting to a new culture, the challenges that might arise from unrooting oneself from the country of origin and building a new life in a new country. Some aspects that often require attention when working with expat experiences are identity, self-esteem, self-worth, impostor’s syndrome, status, self-sabotaging, and inner critic.

Further information

I am delighted to announce that I am now offering discounted online counselling sessions specifically tailored to support interpreters. Drawing from my own experience as a former interpreter, I deeply empathize with the unique challenges and stresses that this profession entails, which can significantly impact interpreters' well-being. Therefore, my aim is to offer a safe and empathetic space where fellow interpreters can openly explore their emotions, navigate the pressures inherent in their work, and work towards achieving a more balanced and fulfilling life.
