About me

About me….

Is anxiety taking hold of your life? Do you feel stuck and unable to move forward because of a loss? Is your anger out of control and affecting relationships?

Hello and welcome to my profile, thanks for stopping by to find out more.  I have worked with people for the whole of my adult life as a nurse and could see the impact that issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, chronic pain and trauma was having  on people.  I wanted to help people find ways to improve their overall quality of life, so I trained as a Human Givens Therapist.

It has been a journey that has shown me just how important it is to bring some calm to your life everyday.

I work with adults, young people and children from the age of 8.  I have an enhanced DBS check and am fully insured.

What I have learnt…..

Life is a roller coaster, we just got to ride it” (Ronan Keating) and worry or  anxiety can take hold and start to affect how you feel and live your life.  Whatever it is you might be struggling with: -

  • feeling stuck and unable to move forward,
  • wishing to break a bad habit
  • wanting to change certain behaviours / feelings,
  • poor sleep,
  • depression or low mood
  • a difficult relationship,
  • stress management

Whatever your struggle you are not alone, I can help you.

How I can help you...

As a Human Givens therapist, my approach is modern, holistic and solution-focused.  Sharing your concerns and feeling heard is very important, so together, in the sessions, we will explore the concern(s) that brought you to therapy. I will listen, guide and support you and using effective techniques, and I will help you find solutions for a positive outcome.  You should be able to move forward with your life in relatively short time.

I have experience with a range of issues such as abuse, addictions, anger, stress, sleep issues, anxiety PTSD/trauma, self-harm, depression, low self-esteem, phobias and relationships.  I support young people in schools with panic attacks, exam anxiety and friendship issues.  I also work with parents to support them either to better support their young person or to improve their relationships.

Why choose me...

I understand it can be difficult to choose a therapist and that the idea of attending therapy can feel a bit scary, but it doesn’t need to be.  I provide a calm, supportive, non-judgemental and confidential space to help you feel at ease and share your narrative.  The therapy will help you work toward your priorities.  If you don’t feel that I am the right person for you there will be no commitment to ongoing sessions and I will never make you attend more sessions than you feel you need.

Therapy can also help people become more self aware and work towards a fulfilling more balanced life.  Life is too short to be stressed.
