About me

Welcome, my name is Melissa. I am a Counsellor, Psychotherapist & Breathwork Coach. My practice is based on the values of kindness, integrity, co-creation and holism. I believe that when we feel safe and held in relationship we can start to develop and listen to our felt-sense and intuition to source meaning, growth and fulfilment in our lives. I am committed to co-creating a relationship and space where you feel safe to explore your needs and self-expression.

I am a non-pathologising, holistic and trauma aware practitioner who honours your journey and your wisdom. I am a relational practitioner which means that I value co-creative spaces, self-determination, and self-discovery. The therapeutic approaches that most inform my work are person-centred, internal family systems, existential and transpersonal. This means that I journey alongside you free from interpretation and judgement, I support your meaning making process and meet you with compassion as you move forward with a greater sense of freedom and authenticity.

I work with clients who are seeking support for all kinds of reasons such as depression, anxiety, abuse, bereavement, spiritual crisis and inner-child bonding. I hold space for those who are seeking support around trauma and fostering post-traumatic growth in their lives, supporting you as you navigate your journey in reclaiming your voice, body, autonomy, identity and purpose.

I work holistically with the body, mind and spirit and believe that we can use our intuition to source wisdom. We can explore through talking, somatic awareness and/or creatively with the creative materials in the space e.g. paint, pastels, clay. I can support you to connect to your process at a pace and depth that feels right for you.

I have a beautiful space on the edge of the Peak District in Marsden where I offer face-to-face, online, phone or outdoor sessions. I welcome any questions you may have and offer a free consultation for you to feel into whether working together is right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 12 years experience of working alongside others on their healing journey as a Social Worker, Mental Health Advocate and Counsellor. I have further training in trauma informed care, yoga, shamanism, Indian head massage, breathwork and reiki.
