About me

There are times when life can challenge all of us in different ways, or crises can occur unexpectedly. It may be that you are going through personal changes, the loss of a loved one, experiencing difficulties in your relationship, feeling low in confidence or just not sure what you want to do with your life.

Whatever you are going through, I can offer you a safe, confidential, supportive, and non-judgemental space to explore your thoughts and feelings, find meaning, accept yourself, and consider how you may want to move forward.

I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (MSc.) and as such can draw on a range of methods to tailor the therapeutic exchange to meet the needs of individual clients.

I work collaboratively with clients with the understanding that everyone is an expert in their own life and aim to empower clients with knowledge and insight to return to living happy and fulfilling lives.

I am a registered member of the BACP.

I offer an initial free 20 minute session so you can find out more. Please contact me to arrange.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold an MSc. Psychotherapeutic Counselling from Staffordshire University for which I was awarded a Distinction.

My experience to date has largely been in the charity sector, providing therapy in a women's centre to women facing a range of issues including domestic abuse, low self-esteem, anxiety, loss and bereavement, relationship difficulties, childhood trauma and abuse, sexual abuse and family issues.

My background is in the refugee sector where I have worked for over 10 years, supporting families and individuals who have endured trauma from fleeing war and persecution.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
