About me

Seeking help can often provoke a sense of vulnerability. That’s a natural part of the process of therapy. I will provide a space where we can explore that vulnerability, and what lies behind it, in a safe and nurturing way.

In a world where the ideal is to be a productive member of society, speed is king. But rather than offering quick fixes my experience shows that lasting change comes from being witnessed and understood. This requires groundedness, empathy and patience. My practice is based on these principles.

Space and depth

I will use my experience as a trained open-ended therapist to ensure we have the time and space needed for you to feel fully met and witnessed where you are.

This will support you in developing the trust and confidence to fully explore your life and the challenges you're facing, in turn helping to foster a deeper connection with your behaviours and habits; both conscious and unconscious.

Through this you will develop a deeper sense of self knowledge, leading to a greater understanding of, and appreciation for, your personality and what makes you tick.

My approach

I qualified as an integrative therapist, and so am experienced in a number of different therapies. I draw on these to tailor sessions to help support you in meeting and working through whatever conditions and challenges have brought you to therapy.

Life experience

I practice and teach Mindfulness and Compassion-based meditation techniques. Where appropriate I will use these practices alongside my training to develop a calm, warm, non-judgmental and grounded approach in our sessions together.

I spent a number of years living in communities and working in co-operatives. I also have experience in high pressure private sector industries such as retail, leisure and construction; public sector roles in Universities; and the third sector having spent several years working for small charities.

I am currently working online, but am looking to offer in person sessions in the near future.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have gained my diploma in Integrative Transpersonal Counselling from Re-Vision.

My training started with a foundation year in which I undertook an in depth look at my own psychological history and experience. I therefore have firsthand knowledge in the process of undergoing therapy.

Following that I completed a two year diploma training which involved a thorough training in a number of different therapeutic schools including Jungian, Humanistic, CBT, Gestalt and psychodynamic.

I have experience of working in both short term and open-ended therapy.

In my practice I have worked with a wide variety of individuals from different ethnicities and backgrounds, addressing issues including overwhelm, emotional and physical burnout, helplessness, insecurity, eating disorders, isolation, phobias, childhood trauma, sexual abuse, divorce, relationship issues, mid-life transition, grief and loss.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
