About me

Hi, hola! I offer therapy in both English and Spanish.

When problems arise in life, and you are troubled or unsure what to do, counselling can help you understand yourself better and help improve your happiness and wellbeing. I work with adults from many different backgrounds exploring a wide range of issues.

Counselling is about helping you to help yourself overcome the difficulty and pain you are experiencing now. It can also lead you to a clearer understanding of how the past may be preventing a happier and more fulfilled life in the present.

My counselling approach enables me to help my clients look at what is causing them concern from various perspectives.

I provide a confidential and safe place for feelings to be heard, acknowledged and allowed. My priority is to facilitate an environment where you can feel enabled to express your feelings freely without judgement.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a counsellor, I provide a safe, nurturing and empathic environment in which many issues can be worked. I have experience working with several different issues such as anxiety, depression, stress,  relationship issues,  bereavement, low self-esteem/confidence, etc.

I have a degree in psychology, a master's degree in clinical psychology, a certificate in neurolinguistic programming, and a diploma in Gestalt therapy. I currently participate as part of the mental health window at the Mexican embassy and see patients in the NHS.

Within the initial Assessment, I will explore what has brought you to counselling and discuss how we might work together. The initial assessment also allows us to get a sense of each other and talk about how to achieve your desired goals.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
