About me
Welcome, I am a professionally trained, experienced Integrative Counsellor, together we can explore whatever difficulties you are encountering. My counselling room is situated in a rural setting, surrounded by fields, and will provide a safe place for you to come and share your thoughts and feelings.
Sometimes life is difficult, we experience anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, negative feelings, wondering where to turn. Counselling can help, enabling feelings, thoughts, experiences to be shared confidentially and our voice to be heard.
As human beings we all need security and significance and when these needs are not met it affects how we think about ourselves and others. Counselling provides an opportunity to share your thoughts, feelings and experiences, within a safe place; knowing you will be listened to and accepted in a non-judgemental way. It also gives an opportunity to explore issues with a companion who will support you on the journey.
I am a qualified counsellor, a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I am on the BACP Register. I work within the BACP Ethical Framework.
My Approach
I work as an Integrative Counsellor, drawing from Humanistic and Psychodynamic modalities. My approach is relational, as I believe that relationship is fundamental to our well-being, and that our early relationships with caregivers, affect all other relationships.
Therefore, I think that our past informs our present, and who we are today is formed by our life experiences and the choices we have made. I am particularly interested in ‘Attachment’ and how this has shaped us. I seek to encourage self-awareness and autonomy, believing that every person is unique and valuable, and has within them, the ability to change.
First Session
This is free and provides an opportunity for you to experience how counselling works as together we explore the reasons for your coming and identify your goals. From this you will be able to make a choice as to whether you wish to go further and if so information will be given about future sessions.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
