About me

Hi I am Mallory. Thank you for taking a look at my profile page. I know seeking a counsellor can be challenging and can feel like a really vulnerable experience, and even though you may have decided to seek help, the thought of sharing how you feel (with a stranger!) might be overwhelming, terrifying even. I hope in viewing my profile, my website and social media accounts I can put your mind and rest. If you have any questions please feel free to send me message.

Finding the therapist that is right for you, can be a very difficult decision. It is fundamental to me, and our work together, that you feel physically and psychologically safe and comfortable in the therapy room. I hope we can build a positive therapeutic relationship (working alliance) and you can begin to share and explore what is troubling you (the behaviours, thoughts, feelings and emotions you may be finding difficult) in a safe and confidential environment.

My motives are simple. To help and support you on your journey to a emotionally and mentally healthier life. Through acceptance, empathy & compassion, and positive regard, I hope that the sessions allow you to feel seen, heard, valued and understood. My hope is that our work together can give you the confidence in your own ability, empower you to face your fears, move through pain, grief & loss, and see difficulties through a different perspective. Overall, I hope our time together gives you peace of mind and allows you to become a more emotionally & mentally healthier version of yourself.

Throughout my training I have explored a variety of theoretical frameworks and philosophies of practice. I have found using an integrative theoretical base, allows me to adapt my work to best meet the individual needs of clients. You are the expert in your own life, I am only fortunate to be a part of your journey. You are my focus, your experiences, your events, your feelings, emotions and behaviours. From time to time we may use creative techniques to encourage deepening of our therapeutic process.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
