About me

I am Mal - a qualified psychotherapist. I work with people with various issues, which include depression or anxiety, grief and loss, personality disorders, relationship difficulties, trauma, stress relating to life/work, low self-esteem, shame, and issues around sexuality.

We can work together to help you achieve your goals and create sustainable, positive change in your life and those around you.

I’ve worked with people from diverse backgrounds such as genders, gender identities, abilities, races and cultures. This experience increased my awareness of multicultural needs and struggles.

Training, qualifications & experience

In addition to working in private practice, I have worked as a counsellor in a range of counselling settings, including Minds Charity and the Polish Psychologist Association, as well as working with ex-offenders, people experiencing homelessness, victims of domestic violence and Headway East London working with people with acquired brain injury.

I am a fully insured and registered British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) member. I am currently working towards an MSc in Gestalt Psychotherapy.

  • Diploma in Diploma Gestalt Psychotherapy
  • Diploma in Humanistic Counselling (Metanoia Institute)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Phototherapy

Life is about adapting to new circumstances as the world constantly changes. Our past experiences can make us rigid and prevent us from enjoying life. A strong therapeutic relationship increases self-awareness and problem-solving skills by exploring experiences, thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

Psychotherapy sessions are held at the same time and location. I offer face-to-face therapy sessions at London Bridge SE1 as well as online. I offer both short and long-term therapy.

I treat and respect each client individually, as even common issues will be unique to you.

I work with individuals and couples looking for long- and short-term therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

During the consultation, we discuss frequency and duration to explore whether this treatment is most suitable for you. It is reasonable to ask for an approximate number of sessions needed, though it can only be estimated. We may agree on a short number of sessions to review, as some issues can be resolved quickly. However, discussing a particular problem may uncover deeper unresolved issues that require further exploration and a longer therapeutic process.
