About me

Are you looking for support in finding a new way forward in your life or relationships? Do you feel stuck and not sure how to make the changes you desire? Is your past preventing you from thriving?

Addressing issues at the root can help you find freedom and get more out of life. It can help you find more peace, confidence, joy and improve the overall quality of your life. I offer a safe and confidential space for you to explore these challenges in a warm and supportive environment. I can support you in moving from a sense of dissatisfaction, anxiety or depression into living life more fully in the present. Together we can improve your relationships and foster a greater sense of connection with yourself and others.

Getting things off your chest in a safe place can make you feel seen for who you are and offer relief in challenging times. I listen with affirming acceptance, empathy and compassion. Together we can develop a deeper understanding of your difficulties and work towards finding new, positive ways forward. I can support you in processing your thoughts and feelings, so you feel better equipped to face life’s challenges. My clients have described my style as kind and gentle; they spoke of how it made them feel at ease and understood, as well as how my observations helped them identify and gain clarity on key issues. No two paths to healing are the same, and I'm here to guide you along yours by offering a personalised approach that reflects your unique needs and goals.

Sometimes we can feel stuck in patterns that are no longer serving us, but struggle to make changes. Getting professional help to take a closer look and explore what is happening can help you find new options, and empower you to make positive changes in your life. Difficult events in our past can have a profound impact on us, and affect how we relate to other people and our life now. I can help you process those experiences and begin to move on so that you can live your life to the full in the present.

I can offer flexible support based on your individual needs. I am more than happy to see you for a free consultation to talk through what you need, so drop me a message and we can take it from there!

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Humanistic therapist and my therapeutic approach is grounded in Person-Centered therapy, Gestalt therapy, and Transactional Analysis. I firmly believe in the inherent worth and potential of each person; I prioritise authenticity, empathy and genuineness in the therapeutic relationship. I see my clients as experts in their own lives and work collaboratively with them to uncover their inner wisdom and resources. I encourage my clients to explore their thoughts and emotions, guiding them toward self-awareness and self-acceptance. I’ve seen how this equips them with the capacity to change and have more choice in their lives. I am passionate about my job and love seeing people's lives improve through therapy.

I have a special interest in working with relationship issues and trauma, which can sometimes manifest as unexplained and persistent anxiety or depression. I support my clients in understanding and resolving their difficulties using Humanistic therapy. As well as working as a private practitioner, I've worked in the charity sector with clients struggling with a range of issues such as trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, abuse, bereavement and loss, relationship issues, spirituality, the impact of difficult early experiences, and shame.

I trained at the prestigious Metanoia Institute, and after completing a Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Skills and Studies, I undertook a three-year, Level 6 Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling.

I am a registered member of the British Council for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and abide by their Ethical Framework. I am committed to providing an anti-discriminatory service and strive to ensure that this practice is present in all my clinical work.

I receive regular supervision and invest in continuous professional development. I have Professional Indemnity and Liability Insurance and I’m registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. I hold a current Enhanced DBS.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
