About me

A warm hello and thank you for taking a look at my profile. I understand that considering counselling and looking for the right counsellor isn't easy, so well done for taking the first step.

I'm a qualified integrative counsellor, who offers a safe, professional, and caring space where I sit with my clients to explore what hurts. Experiences such as anxiety, loneliness, depression, loss, trauma, abuse, identity, life direction and meaning, family issues and low self-esteem are often painful. They can also be seen as our internal system telling us to take a closer look at what's going on inside. Experience has shown me that taking the time to gently explore life events and related thoughts, feelings and behaviours with open curiosity can be life-changing. Expanding awareness and understanding of ourselves we find new ways of relating to others and a path to greater well-being and personal fulfilment.

Centred around the belief that we are all unique, I hold a flexible approach to counselling led by the needs of my clients and their individual experiences. I am open to exploring any issues that may emerge as we work together. Offering a relational partnership that is collaborative, open and honest, you can explore yourself and your relationships in a way you might be unable to in day-to-day life.

My private practice is based in the centre of Norwich, in a quiet setting a few minutes walk from several city-centre car parks. I offer short-term and long-term face-to-face sessions for individuals on a weekly, fortnightly or flexible basis. Sessions are available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (9.30am-4pm).

Contact by phone or email is welcome if you have questions or would like to set up an introductory session. The relationship between us is central to our work and finding a counsellor that feels right for you is important. I offer a free introductory session so we can find out a little more about each other and explore your needs and hopes for counselling.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling.

I am a registered member of BACP and working to their ethical and professional standards is an integral part of my practice.

Alongside private practice, I work as a counsellor for St Barnabas Counselling Centre based in Norwich. As part of the St Barnabas community, I join group supervision sessions and regular CPD events to continually develop my counselling approach and skills.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
