About me

Are you bereaved and struggling with losing a loved one? Or maybe experiencing difficulties in your personal relationships, including those with partners/parents/children/friends/work? Do you have any health or mental health issues (anxiety/depression), a disability or specific learning difficulty (such as autism/ADHD/dyslexia) or are you caring for someone and struggling with this?  Then counselling can help.  Through building our connection and working together, we can gently start to explore what is really happening for you and work towards feeling better.

I offer affordable remote counselling on Zoom, WhatsApp or the telephone, or face to face in my own private therapy room in my garden.  This is to provide you with a warm and non-judgmental environment, whereby we can safely explore what is troubling you.  I also offer Walk and Talk therapy in my local area, weather permitting.

I am also available for online sessions via the BetterHelp.com platform:

https://www.betterhelp.com/louise-davies/

(video/phone/live chat/messaging).  Please visit my site there and find out more regarding BetterHelp.com's unique subscription service, where you can message me also and share journal entries, all included in their price.  Financial assistance may be available.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have the Level 4 Diploma in Counselling and am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am trained in the Person-Centred Approach which puts you at the centre, and whereby we work together as a team. I have also undergone training in the use of Remote Counselling by the Open University, such as Zoom/WhatsApp video or the telephone.  Recently I have undertaken training in the use of Walk and Talk Therapy (by Southport's Marine Lake), which we can hopefully use in the better weather!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
