About me

I am so pleased you have felt able to be here and have taken the time to read more about the ways I may be able to support you. I am a person centred counsellor offering a non judgemental and safe place for you to share thoughts and feelings and to enable you the space to feel heard. You have all the tools and knowledge to help yourself and I can support you to find them and put them to good use.

Often in life we come across times when things may feel difficult to cope with, or you may have things from your past that you now feel ready to talk about. Being able to talk freely in a safe way and to say things you are unable to say to those you love is empowering, and often life changing and I would love to be able to share that process with you. I often work with clients who feel anxious and/or depressed, those experiencing low self esteem, low mood or having family difficulties.

I have a keen interest in working with bereavement and grief, and more specifically supporting bereaved parents and those who have experienced baby/child loss at any stage.

As a registered member of the BACP, I proudly work in line with the BACP ethical framework to ensure safe working practice that beneficial for us both.

Please get in touch for FREE 15 minute informal phone call to talk about the ways we may be able to work together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 15 years experience working with vulnerable young adults until embarking on a career in counselling. I have worked as a counsellor within the NHS, in private hospice setting and as part of a cancer care unit.

My more formal qualifications include:

  • Level 3 Counselling Skills
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I have embarked on a further learning journey this year as I take on a dissertation to convert my PgDip qualification to a full Master's qualification.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
