About me
I am a qualified Counsellor and an accredited member of the BACP and an accredited registered member of the National Counselling Society.
I am aware how daunting coming to counselling might be, what if you have nothing to talk about, what if you don't want to talk about anything that might upset you? That's okay. I work with what you want to bring to a session I work in the here and now whilst respecting and acknowledging that the past has influenced who you are today. .I offer open ended or time specific counselling. This can be agreed at the beginning of our relationship, but can also be reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that you are happy with your choices. It is important for the relationship that you feel a connection with me, as this is a relationship where you may be sharing things about yourself that you have never shared with anyone else, it is important that you feel safe with me and that you can trust me.
Counselling is about talking about the things you need to talk about, there is no easy solution, but what I hope to offer is a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment in which to explore those issues that may sometimes feel too over whelming. Or your need may be to have somewhere to talk and be heard without interruption and without judgement or criticism. I am here to facilitate the changes that you wish to make and if you don't want to make changes, then I am here to listen.
I work with adults, adolescents (13+) and couples. I am based between Salisbury, Romsey and The New Forest and can offer free parking.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.
In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
