About me

Hi, I’m Lindsey and I’m a qualified CBT therapist & coach working in the Bearsden Wellbeing Rooms.

I offer a warm welcome, safe space to talk and a practical, down to earth approach to my sessions. I work with teenagers (age 13+) and have worked with them on a variety of issues such as school related stress & bullying, eating disorders, public speaking, exam stress and interview techniques. This is far from an exhaustive list so please get in touch if you or a young person you know are experiencing an issue and feel that therapy could help.

I also work face to face and online with adults of all ages. Again, this is not an exhaustive list but some of the issues I have helped clients work through are anxiety (various types), depression (mild – severe/suicidal), self-esteem and self-worth issues, childhood trauma, childhood sexual abuse, rape & sexual assault, grief, OCD, relationship issues, sexuality questioning and grief. As above, if you are struggling with something else please reach out because CBT is useful in helping with all kinds of situations where you feel stuck or that something is just holding you back from living life the way you want to.

On top of my individual client work, I also work with couples offering relationship counselling. This creates a safe space to have a conversation about what the issues are and how I can help you work together to overcome them. Issues in our relationships can have such a big impact in our lives and it can feel like there is nothing that can be done. If you come along to therapy with an open mind and willing to talk I think you’ll find there is a lot that can be done to help.

CBT works with your thoughts emotions & behaviours and together we will work on the issues you feel are holding you back so that your life starts looking and feeling more the way you want it to. There is no getting away from the fact that therapy can be tough at times but my clients are the bravest people I know. Having that hope that things can be better means that you’re on your way to change and I’d be delighted to help you on your way with that.

If this sounds like something that would be of interest to you please reach out. I offer a free 20 minute phone/online conversation so we can have a chat and figure out if this feels right for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
