About me

Hello and Welcome,
Life has indeed become complex and difficult. Many of us are now struggling with our mental health in ways that are no longer manageable. We face uncertainty, aspects of life can feel overwhelming and some of our past and present hurts, our unprocessed feelings have risen to the surface. We find ourselves thinking, feeling and acting in ways that do not reflect who we want to be. Some of us have Grief, Trauma or Addiction that we just can’t seem to work through. For others, we can find ourselves repeating the same unhelpful patterns both in our relationship with others and with ourselves. As a result of all this, we now question the the meaning of the lives that we live. If you’re reading this then perhaps it’s time to work through these things.

We sometimes need help beyond our immediate circle of friends, someone who is not only a good listener, but a highly qualified, skilled and experienced practitioner. As a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist with a Masters degree and being EMDR Accredited; I’ve seen thousands of people come through my door and undergo transformation, healing and leave with hope for their future.

I offer a space that is non-threatening and non-judgmental where a new expression of who you truly are can begin to immerge, it is a space to re-imagine your life and future; a way to examine and work through issues you may have so that genuine healing and change can occur.

I am deeply committed to your healing, well-being and the development of you as a whole person: body, mind and spirit. I’m an Integrative Psychotherapist, which broadly means that I’m trained in lots of different approaches and modalities. I can also use a combination of art, music, drama in our therapy as well as meditation techniques. I offer counselling for adults & adolescents, I also offer therapy from a Christian perspective.

Before becoming a psychotherapist / counsellor, I spent 12 years working as a family minister in various churches in the UK and in America. I have also worked as a counsellor and chaplain in a young offenders institute.

Training, qualifications & experience

As a therapist I have counselled thousands of people with all kinds of presenting problems from various backgrounds. I lead workshops and training events across London. I consult and clinically supervise staff from a variety of frontline agencies, as well as supervising a large number of other therapists. Furthermore, I provide therapeutic support for the Police, the Intelligence services and those within the music industry.

I have an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy, BA(Hons) Counselling, PG-Dip Clinical Supervision and am EMDR qualified, I am BACP(Senior Accredited), NCS(Senior Accredited) and EMDR(Accredited). I have over 15,000 clinical hours of experience and over 4000 hours delivering clinical supervision.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
