About me

Are you looking for someone to talk to?

Hi, my name is Laura and welcome to my profile.

We can all face challenges in our lives where we can feel anxious and stressed and out of balance. Seeking support through counselling can take courage but counselling can help you to explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviour in a supportive way and provide you with an opportunity to talk in a safe and confidential setting, without feeling judged.

I am trained in the Person-Centred approach and I offer a warm, non-judgmental and confidential environment. My aim is to provide a respectful and supportive setting to work with you to find your own insight into problems, thoughts and feelings that you are experiencing.

I can work face to face, online via Zoom or over the telephone if preferred. I am also able to offer ‘Walk and Talk’ sessions for those who do not feel a counselling room or online session would benefit them.

I also offer a free twenty-minute introductory call to see whether you would like to work with me.

If you feel we may be able to work together, please contact me either by email or telephone. I am able to work short term or long-term depending on your needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor, having studied with Glyndwr University. I am a accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and work according to their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Profession.

I have completed additional training in Telephone and Online Counselling so I am able to support clients who prefer counselling via this method.

I have completed training in Trauma Informed Practice which allows me to understand how trauma affects the brain and has developed my skills to work with client trauma in a safe and sensitive way.

I am also trained in providing Walk and Talk therapy, so if you do not feel comfortable within a counselling room but still want an in-person session we can hold our session in a suitable outdoor location.

Prior to qualifying as a counsellor, I spent over 15 years working in Human Resources in both the private and public sectors. This experience in Human Resources underpins my work and it has enabled me to support people through a range of situations and difficulties.
