About me

I’m Laura & I am a qualified counsellor based in Bishopstoke, Hampshire. I offer online counselling sessions.

My main experience is working with young adults, adults and adults with Autism, ADHD and other neurodiversity. I have dealt with a wide range of concerns including (but not limited to) stress, anxiety & depression, LGBTQIA related issues, family conflicts, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, trauma and abuse.

You can expect to be greeted with a warm, welcoming and relaxed therapy style.

I believe that you are the expert of your life and that we all have many strengths that will assist us in overcoming our challenges. I help support you in realising your strengths and potential.

Reaching out takes courage and shows you already have the ability to make positive change! I am here to support you in that process.

Please reach out if you have any questions, I would be happy to hear from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified CBT counsellor. My main experience is working with young adults and young people with Autism, ADHD and other neurodiversity. This experience comes from my work as a coach and a counsellor within secondary schools and higher education settings.

Although I originally qualified as a CBT counsellor, I understand that not all approaches suit every client. We are all so wonderfully individual, therefore I expanded my knowledge in other therapy areas to offer a more individual approach to every client.

I have continued to develop my speciality into anxiety, abuse and trauma recovery.

BACP

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
